Manila, Philippines, May 10, 2007 - Smartmatic has joined a growing list of sponsors of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (CCCI) upcoming Cebu ICT 2007 International Conference and Exhibition in Philippines.

Cebu ICT 2007 is one of three principal activities undertaken by CCCI as part of its month-long Cebu Business Month (CBM) celebration. Other activities involve a tourism conference, Inspiring Cebu: Gateway to Asia, and an entrepreneurship conference, Go Negosyo Provincial Launch, organized in partnership with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship.

Jonji Villa, Smartmatic director for Elections Systems Business, announced the agreement with CCCI officials, including CBM chair Samuel Chioson, in a briefing for media today. With other Smartmatic representatives looking on, Villa signed a platinum sponsorship agreement with CBM Information and Communications Technology chair Bonifacio Belen.

'We are thrilled to partner with a global stakeholder such as Smartmatic,' Belen said. 'We have promoted Cebu ICT 2007 regionally and globally as a major venue for ICT stakeholders. We have put together a world-class conference, and have likewise invited major ICT players as exhibitors. The support of a global organization such as Smartmatic further enhances the stature of Cebu ICT as an important international event,' Belen said.

In addition to its sponsorship, Smartmatic will participate in the conference itself. The company's International Elections Division President, Robert Cook, will head the Smartmatic delegation and will take part in a panel discussion on the knowledge workforce and evolving ICT and IT-enabled services development hubs.

Cebu ICT 2007 will take place June 26-28, 2007, at the Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa. For more information, visit
